Avant Art Festival/Japan 2016

49 October 2016
National Forum of Music, New Horizons Art House Cinema, CeTA Audiovisual Technology Centre

In October 2016, the 9th edition of the Avant Art Festival, one of the most important meetings with avant-garde and experimental art in Poland, will take place in Wrocław. The Avant Art Festival is more than just a musical project, as its programme also encompasses sound installations, dance and theatrical performances, visual projects, films, educational projects and concerts.

This year’s edition of the festival will be devoted to Japanese art and Polish-Japanese projects.
The presentation of Japanese artists will be another instalment of a cycle presenting the contemporary art in selected countries. We are going to try and show many aspects of the country’s art at the same time—theatrical performances, contemporary dance shows, sound installations, visual arts projects, films, educational projects and—of course—concerts.
Over the course of 5 days of the festival we are going to present projects which will show many aspects and facets of Japanese art and music, with emphasis being put on music. A review of films on Japanese art and music will be a very important addition to the main events. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the New Horizons Association and the New Horizons Art House Cinema, which will host the 5th Avant Art Film Review—Japanese Films About Music and Art.

The programme of the festival will be announced on 5 May 2016.
