During this part of a series of three meetings – presentations (the remaining two will take place on November 4 and November 23), Enrico will invite us to discuss the selected objects (pieces of sacral art and architecture) and ask us some simple questions: What do they mean to us? What is their history, use, function?
“Working with memory”, both individual and collective, as well as reflection upon the instruments and functioning of institutions established to archive, preserve and manage the memory will be an important element of the meetings. Among such institutions, operating in the areas of memory, re/covered/ceived objects, as well as education about the times and ideas, of which an object is a material manifestation.
The following meeting on November 4 will be more of a structured workshop with audience. Its scenario, along with topics, sections and methods that will be used during the meeting will be created after the prologue. The idea will be refined by the artist in close cooperation with the residence supervisor – Bartek Lis from the Wrocław Contemporary Museum.
The A-i-R Wro Artistic Residence Programme was financed from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
