Loving Vincent - One day painting sale on 29th July

On 29th July Vincent van Gogh died from a gunshot wound. The man was carrying nothing; his hands clasped to a fresh bullet wound leaking blood from his belly. This was Vincent van Gogh, then a little known artist; now the most famous artist in the world. His tragic death has long been known, what has remained a mystery is how and why he came to be shot. To mark the anniversary of Vincent’s death, we are putting 29 new paintings from the production of Loving Vincent on sale. These 29 paintings have been specially selected as co-director Hugh Welchman's favourite paintings.

All of these paintings, plus existing merchandise including paintings, prints and posters will be available at 7% off for 24 hours only on 29.07. This is a one day only offer, the 29 paintings will go on sale on LovingVincent.com on July 29th!

Loving Vincent  brings van Gogh’s paintings to life in order to tell the incredible story. Every single one of the 65000 frames is a painting made by one of 125 professional oil painters from 19 countries, who travelled around the world in order to collaborate on the film. They managed to create 62 000 frames imitating the artist's paintings – 12 per every second of the animation. It is the first time that this technique is used on such a large scale to bring the most famous works by the artist to the silver screen. The audience will have a unique opportunity to see Vincent van Gogh's paintings in a new dimension. The paintings, as unforgettable as they are, are just as great as the passion of the artist's fateful life and the mystery of his death.

The Polish pre-release screenings of the innovative work by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman – Loving Vincent – will be included in the programme of the 17th T-Mobile New Horizons IFF, which opens on August 3 in Wrocław. Loving Vincent – the first animated film made entirely using oil paint – had its world première during Annecy International Film Festival on June 13.
