‘Thanks, Jimi’ Festival

1st May 2016

Pergola—Centennial Hall / Hala Stulecia, Wystawowa 1, Wrocław

The idea to try and beat the Guinness World Record was an initiative by Leszek Cichoński and other residents of the city, who every year attempt to gather a huge number of guitarists and play “Hey, Joe” together.

Every year the event is also attended by professional guitarists and famous bands. The purpose of the festival is not only to promote the spirit of blues in Poland—it is all about having fun and listening to great music live. In 2016, Wrocław—the European Capital of Culture—will connect with other cities and thanks to the Internet broadcasting, it will reach thousands of guitarists worldwide. In 2016, we are once again going to beat the Guitar Guinness World Record and have the largest number of guitarists playing the same song simultaneously. We are going to need a lot of volunteers—the current record is 7344!
