[LITERATURE] LEMological congress
Stanisław Lem - one of the most outstanding minds of our continent at the turn of the 20th and 21st century - intrigued with his knowledge, erudition and visionary ideas about the future of our planet and the human kind. His books entertained and taught many generations of his readers in many countries, as they were translated into more than 40 languages. American writer Philip K. Dick even suspected that LEM was in fact not a name of a writer, but a team of academics and writers.

[LITERATURE] Good Book Fair in Wrocław
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Good Book Fair in Wrocław. The long tradition of the event emphasises both its significance and the need for it to be organised. Every single year sees an ever-increasing number of publishers and great interest shown by visitors. Due to that fact, this year’s edition of the Fair will take place at the Centennial Hall.

[MUSIC] Jazztopad 2016

Jason Moran, Wayne Shorter, Hugh Masekala, Marcin Masecki, the musical tastes of Hungary and Japan – this year’s edition of the Jazztopad Festival looks set to be very exciting. The programme combines the best parts and events, universally loved by regulars of the jazz celebration in Wrocław, as well as special premiere concerts. This year’s festival takes place as part of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 event programme, which makes for a perfect occasion for celebration!

[MUSIC] Ambient Festival

The International Ambient Festival is a realisation of an idea of a coherent, somehow stylistically hermetic event which goes against all superficiality in the process of creation and reception of art. We want to present genres and artists whose art cannot be treated with indifference, who present art that needs total mental and emotional commitment from the audience.

The European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 is pleased to announce the 23rd edition of Komiksofon. This time we are going to be joined by Karol Kalinowski and Mateusz Skutnik. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday (November 25) at Barbara.

[CINEMA] Frames of Wrocław
On November 24-27, the New Horizons Art House Cinema will host the 4th edition of the review of archival films about Wrocław - the Frames of Wrocław. It is going to be yet another unique review organised as part of the European Capital of Culture 2016 programme. This year’s edition features the screening of Bitwa wrocławska / The Battle of Wrocław, a documentary about the largest demonstration under martial law in Poland. Due to your unwavering interest in the subject of Festung Breslau, we are going to repeat a set of films devoted to “Fortress Wrocław”, but this time we are going to introduce some modifications.

[MUSIC] The European Forum Of Music Therapists

The European Forum of Music Therapists “45 Years of Wrocław Music Therapy in the Centre of Europe” will be a presentation of achievements of Wrocław Music Therapy compared to other European music therapy schools in Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Great Britain, Ukraine and Italy.

[MUSIC] Bibliotheca Rudolphina
2.12.2016, Town Hall

An international and interdisciplinary project coordinated by the Wrocław Chamber Orchestra, focused on the scholarly study, digitalisation and publishing of the 17th century library, belonging to Prince of Legnica, Jerzy Rudolf. The pieces are recorded on CDs and performed during concerts in Wrocław by Cantores Minores Wratislavienses and Ars Cantus ensembles.

For the fifth time the artists and enthusiasts of glass art will meet in Wrocław in order to take part in Play With Glass – the European Glass Festival. Every year, the popularity of the event is growing, and the festival itself is slowly becoming the most important regular event in Europe connected with glass art.

On the last days of November, the Ballestrem Palace will host yet another conference organised by the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 as part of the City of the Future / Wrocław Laboratory programme. The meeting will confront the many different visions on the development of culture, society and the humanity in the face of dynamic civilisational, technological and social changes.

A conference about multiculturalism in Central Europe
The 4th SIETAR Poland Congress will take place on Novevber 25-27 in Wrocław. The subject of this edition of the Congress, which aims at exchanging best intercultural practices regarding effective collaboration in the contemporary world is Intercultural competence – the key to today's globalized world. As the European Capital of Culture 2016 and an important centre for international collaboration, Wrocław is the best place to start the important and much needed discussion about the value of cultural diversity.

Social Congress: „Culture of values – value of culture”
On November 25-27, ECoC 2016 Social Congress: “Culture of values – value of culture” will take place in Wrocław. During the event, the representatives of intellectual elites from Poland and around the world will make an attempt at diagnosing the current civilisational situation and consider the directions of its development. Their reflections will be mostly focused on Poland, but in a broad geopolitical, cultural and religious context it will also encompass Europe and the world.

Ceramic mural “Let’s meet”. Unveiling on November 10.
Malt Passage / Przejście Słodowe
All residents of Wrocław are invited to the official unveiling of a ceramic mural, the idea of which was conceived in March of 2014. The mural was created by Katarzyna Koczyńska-Kielan and Joanna Teper- professors at the Department of Ceramics of Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław - who wanted to commemorate the prestigious European Capital of Culture 2016 title being awarded to Wrocław in an original way.

[FILM] Wim Wenders – film retrospective
19,22,26.11.2016
Wim Wenders – German director, screenwriter and film producer, as well as photographer, creating films for four decades, one of the most outstanding creators of the European cinema. His films won some of the most prestigious awards. Since 2006, he has been the head of the European Film Academy. The film retrospective is a programme featuring around 30 films made by the German artist.

[VISUAL ARTS] Eugeniusz Geppert Competition
21.10 – 11.12.2016
The Geppert Competition is a regular event dedicated to young painters, with the aim of presenting the most complete landscape of phenomena currently taking place in various centres in the country, as well as promoting the debuting artists. The competition, which has been organised without interruption since 1989, is now one of the most important reviews of young art in Poland.

[VISUAL ARTS] Masterpieces of painting from the National Gallery in Berlin

[microGRANTS] Wrocław. Time capsule
30.11.2016

Using the eponymous time capsule, Zuzanna Bućko and Szymon Bogacz – organisers of playwriting workshops – will move the imagination of the participants into the past and future of three buildings in Wrocław. The beginner playwrights will face the task of creating short dramatic etudes, inspired by the subject.

[microGRANTS] Breaking Spot – A dancing meeting place
DATE: 25-26 November 2016
The Enklawa Rytmu group invites everyone for a dancing workshops promoting positive aspects of the hip-hop culture. The participants are going to learn breaking and New Style Hustl. The workshops are aimed especially at youth who want to try their hand at dancing and those who want to hone their skills. The workshops will end with a dance jam.

[microGRANTS] SilkscreenGarden at MiserArt

Did you know you can print a fabric or a wallpaper with your own pattern? Would you like to know how to do it? Join us for the SilkscreenGarden at MiserArt and learn the silkscreen technique under the watchful eye of the masters! The SitoOgrodnicy group proposes a series of workshops, divided into two parts: in October, they will invite homeless residents of Wrocław to work with them, and in November they will pass on the knowledge to a group of youth willing to take part in the workshops.

[microGRANTS] ARISS at Salez
Radio connection with an astronaut living at the International Space Station, together with a series of educational and technical preparations.
The connection with the astronaut will take place on November 25.

[microGRANTS] IN KSIĘŻE
26 November 2016
“Na Księżu” Group encourages everyone to participate in inter-generational computer workshops, during which the participants will learn how to manage their own website or a blog, learning basic information regarding copyrights and intellectual property rights. The project is aimed primarily at the residents of Księże Małe and Wielkie. As a result, a website with news and cultural information will be built and maintained by the residents.

[VISUAL ARTS] “Solitude” sculpture in Popowicki Park
From November 2016
An event taking place as part of the “Stanisław Dróżdż. Text Paths” project. The “Solitude” sculpture is the second part of the project devoted to Stanisław Dróżdż. It is a reconstruction of an artistic installation, created on the basis of a sketch by Barbara Kozlowska, who in 1970 interpreted the poem by Dróżdż titled Solitude, giving the work its third dimension. The work will become a part of the landscape in Popowicki Park.

The “I am Myself” project uses photography as a tool for creative and active participation in cultural events for socially marginalised people and others. [VISUAL ARTS] Summer Rental. Marx’s collection with a visit in Wrocław

The works by Warhol, Rauschenberg, Beuys, Kiefer and many more outstanding contemporary artists will be available in Wrocław – starting in August, they will be displayed in the Four Domes Pavilion. [VISUAL ARTS] All-year project
Ongoing exhibition "binaryWaves" by the LAb[au] group
LAb[au] is an artistic trio from Brussels, formed by Manuel Abendroth, Jérôme Decock i Els Vermang. Their works combine characteristics of conceptual art, systems art and concrete art – updated through the use of contemporary materials, techniques and formats.

[VISUAL ARTS] Kuba Bąkowski's exhibition as part of "Invasion” – All-year project
Two works by Kuba Bąkowski will be displayed as part of a project: "Invasion of the Wroclaw Airport"; the artist seeks to present the humanistic dimension of science; his works have already been displayed in many cities including Moscow, Vienna, and New York. The artist combines performance and photography and the only traces of the happenings he creates are single shots presented in light boxes.

[VISUAL ARTS] Stanisław Dróżdż. Text Paths.
Stanisław Dróżdż. Text Paths is a poetic and visual project, carried out in the public space of Wrocław. Its main goal is to acquaint the wide audience with the art and creations of Stanisław Dróżdż, a poet, artist and animator of the Polish branch of the concrete poetry movement, who was connected with Wrocław. The opening will take place on September 6 at the Proza club in Wrocław (Przejście Garncarskie 2).
