Wrocław Publishing Programme 2016

Information regarding the results of the project recruitment for the 1st edition of the Wrocław Publishing Programme

The Selection Board of the Wrocław Publishing Programme, assembled on 13 May 2016, comprising of: Jacek Sutryk (director of the Deparment of Social Matters of the Wrocław Municipal Office, chairman of the Selection Board), Jarosław Broda (director of the WMO Deparment of Culture), Jerzy Pietraszek (deputy director of the WMO Deparment of Culture), Olga Nowakowska (deputy director of the Impart 2016 Festival Office), Magda Brumirska (co-ordinator of the Wrocław Publishing Programme), has concluded the tender procedure of the 1st edition of the Programme. The amount planned for financing the publications in the city budget amounted to 600 000 PLN.

10 applications for financing for magazines (from 1 to 3 issues) and 52 applications for financing books for a total amount of 1 653 360 PLN gross were received by the Selection Board. 9 applications were disqualified as they did not comply with formal requirements and conditions.  During the expert assessment stage, 6 applications did not receive the amount of points qualifying them for further processing. 8 magazine projects and 39 book projects were qualified for the assessment by the Selection Board of the Wrocław Publishing Programme.

The Selection Board of the Wrocław Publishing Programme based its decisions on expert assessments, connection of projects, their topics and their creators with Wrocław and Lower Silesia, as well as their potential in promotion of the region.

The Selection Board has decided to finance the following titles in the form of joint venture:

Magazines

  1. „Rita Baum”- 3 issues (Stowarzyszenie Kulturalno-Artystyczne Rita Baum / Rita Baum Cultural and Artistic Association) – 90 000.00 PLN
  2. „Format” - 1 issue (Akademia Sztuk Pięknych im. Eugeniusza Gepperta we Wrocławiu / Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław) - 45 000.00 PLN
  3. „nietakt!t” - 3 issues (Fundacja Teatr Nie-Taki / Teatr Nie-Taki Foundation) - 45 000.00 PLN
  4. „Spotkania z zabytkami” – 1 issue (Fundacja Hereditas / Hereditas Foundation) - 40 000.00 PLN
  5. „Magazyn Materiałów Literackich Cegła” – 3 issues (Fundacja na rzecz Kultury i Edukacji im. Tymoteusza Karpowicza / Tymoteusz Karpowicz Foundation for Culture and Education) – 30 000.00 PLN
  6. „Rocznik Wrocławski” – 1 issue (Zakład Narodowy im. Ossolińskich - Wydawnictwo Ossolineum / Ossoliński National Institute - Ossolineum Publishing House) - 25 000.00 PLN
  7. "Pomosty" Dolnośląski rocznik literacki – 1 issue (Stowarzyszenie Pisarzy Polskich / Polish Writers’ Association) - 14 000.00 PLN

  10. „Putzlaga i inne wiersze”, Grzegorz Hetman (Fundacja na rzecz Kultury i Edukacji im. Tymoteusza Karpowicza / Tymoteusz Karpowicz Foundation for Culture and Education) - 9 000.00 PLN
  11. „Tylne łapki”, Rafał Różewicz (Fundacja Duży Format / Duży Format Foundation) - 8 000.00 PLN
  12. „Zaśpiewy rynkowe”, Dariusz Sas (Stowarzyszenie Rita Baum / Rita Baum Association) - 4 500.00 PLN

By the decision of the Selection Board, the amount of 98 500 PLN remaining in the budget of the Wrocław Publishing Programme will be used for conducting the 2nd recruitment cycle in September 2016.

The Wrocław Publishing Programme is a part of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 literary programme.
